Default 3.7to4.7swap

I have a 2008 Dakota with a3.7 and want to swap it out to a 4.7. I work at a large auto wreckers so I have access to almost every dodge engine made. What engine is my best option for this swap keeping in mind I'd like to install a turbo eventually!!

Confused by your post. You want to swap your 3.7 for a 4.7 but then ask what is the best engine for this swap?

I have a 2005 4.7 non HO version, and its a pretty solid set up. It has more than enough power for what I do, but that depends on what you do with your truck.
I haven't done it myself, but I hear superchips is a good thing to do and may be better off than adding a turbo, you could look into that.

5.7 Hemi. That's the only way you are going to get those numbers. Probably need a shoehorn and sledgehammer to get it to fit though.....

4.7 is a 4.7. besides the H.O. (forged parts). the motor is the same. you have to pay attention to the year of the motor. the tone rings change in 2009 i think. as for getting the that kind of power to the wheel. you might as well go for the hemi swap. it can and has been done before. i'm in the process myself. the hemi has more aftermarket support than the 4.7 also.
