Hello I have a 03 Dakota 4.7 I'll be driving and the headlights will turn off randomly and the whole dash will turn off is the switch bad or something else thanks

 

By "whole dash turn off" do you mean the instrument cluster too?

I'd be thinking a bad ground. The ground for the CTM, which runs the headlights, is on the lower center of the instrument panel. There are also "jumpers" from the instrument panel, to the body by the drivers side dash pivot.
