Is there hope? Engine light Code P2563
'07 Dodge Ram 2500, 6.7L 130,000 miles and I was hoping to take my truck to at least 200,000 before anything like this happened:
Code P2563 indicates the PCM detected the turbocharger boost control position sensor A signal was not within acceptable limits.
ERROR CODES READ: Turbocharger Boost Control Position sensor circuit range/performance
According to Dodge service anything done to the turbo is over 4K....
Anyone have any options I should be aware of? Is this the DEATH CODE or can it be triggered by something that's an easy fix....
Background, long time forum reader, first time poster. I have kept my truck Fuel Filter changed regular, maintenance as much as I can, truck was running tip top and earlier this year dropped about $2500 into it in drive-train and other maintenance.
Dealer wants $150 to tell me their advice but I'm afraid (even after 10 faithful years of using them exclusively for my service) that they will default to the FULL TURBO replace for 4k+....

I asked and that's when I was told "it's all integrated and you need to replace the WHOLE THING"... to which I was in amazement and said the obvious, "are you ****in' kidding me???"

Ok, did some diggin..... Came up with this:
Code P2563 may indicate the turbocharger has excessive amounts of soot built up on the variable turbo vanes. If cleaning soot out twice does not clear the codes, then the turbocharger would need to be replaced.
Apparently, NONE of that stuff is available separately.... it's all on the turbo, and is not user serviceable. That was farking stupid......
Soot cleaning apparently requires a scan tool to initiate the cleaning process. (cycles the vanes thru their full range of motion.) Also, it seems that using the exhaust brake will also help clean things out. A fair few folks have dealt with this issue by deleting the EGR, and DEF systems....... But, if they do emissions testing where you are, you will need to keep those systems functioning.

THNX FOR THE REPLY
OK, so something may make sense here... yesterday I drove across town with the airbrake on and once I got to where I was going the light went out... came back on today.
So do I do this "soot cleaning" ???? Or is this scan tool thing a DEALER ONLY type function? I'll go anywhere and buy anything to clean it to keep from a $4000 replace
