NP231 Transfer case questions
I have an important question about my transfer case, there's a crack in the rear cover and it leaks like a open water hose, I have found several n Ebay used starting at $50 , but they are for Jeeps, my question is will a Jeep rear cover fit on my transfer case or do I need one specific to a 1993 NP 231?
( please tell me they are universal as far as the case goes :P )

Did you look at the link I sent you in your other post? https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...f-cracked.html
On a 93, you could have 2 different transfer cases.
I am going to go out on a limb and say if its a newer jeep then no.

I had somebody say there was more than one transfer case that went under it so I think I better use the vin and decode it brfore I order a rear cover for a 231

Look here. http://www.factorychryslerparts.com/
If you need just the cover, it may be best to just buy new. But FWIW look hard at the chain.

I called Southern/Chrysler/Dodge in Chesapeake Va, when I lived up there in Va Beach I dealt with them a lot,
the parts dept asked for the vin ( last 8) and the guy told me its a NPG231, bolted to the back of a 4 speed automatic, he also said it IS a 3.9 magnum
So basically I traded a stock 3 speed auto open diff city only jeep for a monster
