Have had two batteries go completely dead after sitting for extended periods of time. I have found a draw coming from the fuse marked "4x4". What do I do now?
Pull the fuse. Get out your multi-meter. Look at the wiring diagram for where the fuse output line goes (see the FSM in the sticky). Then start measuring ohms and such and pulling connectors to figure where the problems is. It's likely a bad component or a chafed wire.
Mines always done the same. Been too lazy to put a meter on it. Battery was toast anyway so I threw an optima yellowtop in it and I haven't had a dead battery since. Truck sits for weeks and the batteries still plenty to start. A little weak due to the drain, but always fires up
Well his problem seems a bit worse than mine lol. I should diagnose mine. But I haven't because I have two other trucks I drive much more than my Durango so as long as the battery ain't dead, I'm okay with it. But his problems seem worse so yes I would definitely get out a multimeter and start checking for drains and find out where it's coming from lol
Psp, I just re-read my post, wasn't meant to sound harsh. Thanks for taking it as humor as I intended. I added a Grin icon to it, and double mugs below.

Oh yeh I got the humor haha. But it is definitely one of the many problems on my Durango that I am ignoring in order to try and fix some of the bigger problems like the transfer case chain or getting my rear end geared to the front gearing again lol
