Default 98 Ram 1500 4 Wheel drive rear brake issue

The rear brakes on my 98 Ram 1500 4 wheel drive keeps self adjusting too tight. Any suggestions on what would be causing this to happen?

Shoes loose on the nails? Spring broke? Shoes worn to the rivets?

After a closer look the shoes are wearing uneven. The springs do look ok

Are the shoes on backwards? The shoe with the shorter pad surface should be on the FRONT. (can't really tell which way is which in the pic.)

Adjuster looks too crusty for my taste. Try a new adjuster kit and even springs. Lube everything accordingly.
