2nd Gen Truck Rack on a 1st Gen
After doing a little research, it seems as though the 2nd gen bed dimensions are very similar to a 1st gen. Both bed widths appear to be 57" and some change. Is there any reason to believe that a 2nd gen truck (headache) rack would not fit my 1st gen? Thanks.

A quick look at rock auto shows 91-93 then 94-96, then 97-2004. Dont know what the difference is, but there is something. Any reason why you would not go ahead and get a rebuilt unit for the 92? It appears they are a little more then $100.00 or so.
FWIW I tried to use a 97 control arm on my 87 and they were different. Best I remember, the ball joint stub was a different size.

I dont see why not. My 96 has a rack off a third gen. (Forget the exact year, but it was 2005 or newer) fits perfect.

Did you ever get one?? I'm curious because I recently crunched the cab corner while doing ranch work and realized I need one.
