Question 1996 B2500 V6 stops running while driving.

I had a problem with the IAC. Replaced and it idles fine now. Now while driving the van just shuts down. I coasted into my driveway today and it wouldn't start. I let it sit for 2 hrs and it fired right up. Some say it's the fuel filter on the by the fuel rail under the driver's door on the chassis. I haven't looked yet, but if it's there can I bypass it with a piece of rubber fuel line. Not sure if this is the problem. This all started after I replaced the IAC.

Check wiring for the cam (under the distributor cap, pigtail sticks out) and crank (right behind passenger side head) sensors. If it does it again, IMMEDIATELY check and see if you are getting spark.

Typical symptom of a failing crank sensor or a failing ECM. Also, not sure about 96 but later models did not have a replaceable fuel filter, they are built into the fuel pump assembly.

Pigtail under the distributor cap looks good. I secured it with a wire tie so it wouldn't move. Is there a way to check the crank sensor? I checked the IAC again and reset the PCM. Took it for a ride. Same problem.

Check and see if you are getting spark when it dies. If you aren't, crank sensor is highly suspect. Only use a MOPAR crank sensor. Dodges really don't seem to care for aftermarket sensors in critical locations.

When it dies and sits for about 1 minute it starts right up. Is it possible that it needs a fuel pump? I understand that the filter is on the pump.

As often as this happens shouldn't I get an error code? That's what makes me think the fuel filter on the pump gets clogged up and when it sits a little bit the pressure drops and frees up the filter.
When it stalls I don't have enough time to check for spark because it will start right up in 30 to 60 seconds after a few cranks. What do you think?

There is either no spark or no fuel right after it stalls. Cranks but won’t start. Not sure which one it is. After a minute or two it starts right up. If you still believe it’s the crank sensor I’ll pick one up today.
Thamk you in advance for all of your help!

Could be cam or crank sensor, or even the PCM.......
