Default engine swaps

hey guys quick question.
looking to do a serious swap in my 1997 1500 looking to mount a 6.4 hemi. aside from engine mounts tranny and drive shaft is there anything else I need to consider when pricing this project?
also any pointers from experience would be much appreciated!

Also need to figure out how are you are going to run the gauges....... Newer trucks are completely different than the 97 and older guys.

There is a thread around here that a member attempted the swap. He installed the dash, and all the wiring from the donor truck as well. I think he ran out of money/time/patience before it was completed though. That said, it HAS been done.....

There was guy on another forum that did this swap with a 5.7 The harness alone was like a grand. You can merge the two but you better be real good with wiring.

When I did my Hemi swap (can't use the 6.4 biggest is 5.7) hotwire charged my 1585 just for the harness. That didn't include the pedal setup, the computer, or anything else.

is the 6.4 to big for the engine bay?

Don't consider only the dimensional size of the engine, but also the weight difference between the engine that came with the truck versus what you're considering transplanting. You'd had to beef up the suspension as well depending on how much more the 6.4L weighs.

Is this all really worth the expense, or would you be better off buying a more suitable vehicle?

Not to big it's just nothing will communicate with it (as in gauges). Hotwire can't even make a harness for it.
