Any generic install video for an aftermarket transmission cooler will get it done. It is not Rocket Surgery. The two biggest problems are finding a location and fasteners, and deciding which line is supply and which is return. I think that somewhere on the forum there is at least one "how-to". Search function is your friend.

I bent alum for the mounts . there are 4 . it is more than 1 in from the a/c condenser and 3/4 from the support the mounts are screwed into so a/c still gets good flow and a/t cooler isn't blocked by the blue support which also has holes in it

Nice work, regg. What cooler brand/model of cooler did you use? Did you already have the factory transmission cooler and added this to it?

You didn't happen to take any pictures along the way of the installation, did you?

no sorry no photos when I did the install, yes it still has the factory cooler at the bottom of the radiator then it goes to this aux cooler and returns to the return line of the stock trans cooler return line. I forget the brand but it is one of the well known brands and size is what was recommended for this truck. sorry I cant be more help but it was a year + ago that I did it.

Okay, thanks for the info. I've been considering one that that they offer at eTrailer.com. It looks like yours. Thanks for the fluid routing info; I was wondering about that.

I cut off the outlet of the stck cooler about 2- 2.5 inches out of the radiator slippted a line on to it that is the in of the aux cooler then took the out line of the aux cooler an slid it over the remainder of the return line and have single small hose clamps at all connections and it works fine no leaks good luck

Digging up an older thread... but in order to interrupt the line AFTER the fluid goes through the factory radiator, i'll be cutting the line coming out of the right side of the radiator, right? Just checking in before I hack the metal line on the wrong side. Thanks!

(Installing generic trans cooler on 07 Dakota 4.7 HD but non tow pkg (originally an enterprise rental) before I haul my ~5500lb total race trailer setup)

IDK on the 4.7 I did mine on the 3.7 6 cyl. but yes I cut the passenger side of the radiator. if your not sure. drive it into the dirt, pull the fitting out of the radiator and turn it on and pit it in drive just for a sec. if fluid shoots out the rad your OK. If it shoots out the hose then that the wrong side. dirty but works
