Default airbox mod

Hey guys. I've had this 2006 Hemi Limited for 2 1/2 yrs now and have 56,000 miles on the Jasper engine. I recently fixed a recurring EGR code with a new EGR valve. At the same time changing the EGR valve I noticed that the opening for air to enter the airbox was much smaller than the air filter itself. I decided to drill twelve 5/8" holes on the fender side of the lower portion of the airbox. I also drilled 6 more 1/2" holes in the rear facing side of the lower portion of the airbox. Now the air intake opening is closer in size to the surface area of the filter itself. I'm not exaggerating when I say it feels like I've installed lower ratio gearing or a bigger engine. It is much snappier and pulls harder. I don't think this is due to the new EGR valve because it never felt like this much power.

Trying it won't hurt anything and you can always cover the holes up if you don't like it.
