Default 1996 Dakota hates me

I've had this truck for a few years but never got to properly Dailey it. Was in limp mode because the ecu I bought wasn't sending ground to trans relay. That's grounded and now doesn't want to fire early a.m. during chilly wet conditions, no power TO coil (not to distributor) To coil. After disconnecting positive terminal for 2 hours to reset ecu itl fire. Have yet ANOTHER ecu otw.. But can anyone else think of a reason?

It could be any number of things to properly diagnose over the internet. Check engine light on? Had it scanned for stored codes?

No power going TO coil. Did crank sensor, coil good, pickup coil, rotor, cap, button in good shap. Issue is intermittent. Sometimes runs. GENUINE mopar crank sensor cost me 114$ f%&$ing dollars from dealer...

Wait.

That's not what you said on Facebook.

No power TO coil while cranking?

Or just while sitting?

REMEMBER - ASD will kill the power to the coil if the motor isn't cranking.

(How does the ECU know it's cranking? The crank sensor primarily, with the cam sensor helping it figure out which cylinder is firing. For your truck, that's more important than most since it's also Sequential EFI instead of Multi Port FI; the injectors are fired one at a time and varied by the cylinder's requirements.)

Why would I say no power to coil? Or with key in just on? From the convos we have had is like to think you thought of a little more of me than that. I know I don't know everything but.... come on... I'm not a COMPLETE dumbass.

You left a few details out here.

The Devil's in the details, as they used to say.

You will only have power at the coil for about 3 seconds, unless the PCM sees the engine turning. A second body makes this test a LOT easier.
