Default 1994 Drivers Door Latch

Hey everyone, I have a 1994 Dakota and the drivers door latch has failed internally. My searches on and off line for a replacement have not gone well. Does anyone know of anywhere that might still be able to get them? Passenger side is out there but no one seems to have or is able to get the drivers door.

I got the ones I have on New Egg It just came up in a search. Here is a rock auto https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...or+handle,1024
They are cheaper than the ones I put in. Its a pain to change them you have to remove the interior panel and drop the window glass to get at the nut and then its a pain to unscrew it just so and get it out. I forget if you take out the lock cylinder first or after you remove it.

I think he's talking about the actual latch on the door. Not the handle

If that is the case I think this is it and if they do not have it you have the OE part number to go by. https://www.factorychryslerparts.com...5112599AB.html

I was referring to the latch itself, not the handle.

I've already had the part number and contacted them and a few other websites that list it that seem to be the same company as the one you posted, no one is able to get it. I had placed and order but it was refunded after they emailed me saying they couldn't get the part

Yes, the internal latch, not the handle. I had found it online with that same company, though the link you set is for a 2000s dakota, they list it but after contacting them and attempting to order it's out of stock and impossible to get. I've tried the 3 or so websites I could find that list it.

One of the members here messaged me and has a parts truck he was willing to sell me the piece, hopefully it fits alright.

Part number should be one of these 05011671AA, 55075875, 55075547

I have two websites that sell new old stock https://www.vpartsinc.com/
http://arizonaparts.com/MoparPartsAll.aspx
If that doesn't work used parts is probably the best way yo go unless you can find after market.

If I needed a door latch for either of my trucks I'd hit my local boneyard, as of last weekend they had at least a dozen 87-96 Dakotas out there..... and I can see he has moved the yard around a bit since my last previous trip, there were a handful more that are now gone. You pull, probably cost about $10-15. this isn't something that goes bad often.
