Default 99 Dodge no power

hello, first time on here. Decided to join Bc I’m at a loss and frustrated. I bought my ram with 170,000 miles, with the intent to rebuild. I haven’t had the luxury of having power since I bought this truck 4 years ago. Runs good on flat ground and barely keeps up speed going up to the mountains( I live in Denver). When towing my camper up for hunting season. She will only do about 25 miles per hour climbing. List of stuff I’ve done.
New cat, new fuel pump, new tune up, tranny rebuilt 1.5 years ago, new timing chain and gears, new water pump, new alternator, new power steering pump, new steering box, new ball joints, new track bar, new tie rods, new rear and front brakes, new front hubs and bearings, new lift and suspension, this is only a portion of what I’ve replaced. I only mention more than what would affect power to show how much I’m into this truck. I can’t figure out why she’s got no power!!!! I think it might be the tranny. Which I’m going to get a monster transmission. ( any thoughts on monster transmissions) any help or thoughts on power loss??

What gears, what size tires, and how much does your trailer weigh?

I've read a lot of horror stories about monster transmission......

Something I don't see in your list is O2 sensors.

What year is your truck, and what motor?

Horror stories!! Ok good to know any recommend tranny’s. Yep replaced the o2 censors when I replaced the whole exhaust. She’s a 99 doge ram 1500, with the 5.2. Haven’t replaced the plenum gasket yet. I stuck my magnet down and it’s not aluminum. Was able to see in and there’s a tiny tiny bit of oil. Would that affect up hill power??

Maybe it’s bc the motor has 220,000 miles on her?? I’m eventually going to replace the motor as well. As far as gears I’m not sure yet. Trailer is a pop up weighs 2800 I’m going to check tire size here shortly..

Sounds about right to me. The 5.2 is tiny and barely moves these heavy trucks. If you have anything over stock 245 tires, it will be a struggle. And something changed in 99 because older trucks (OBD1) seem to rip a lot more. Mine sounds like it's always towing; really works hard and I'm only on 33s. You may also have the deathflash which does affect town driving and taking off. I remember asking a dealership way back when mine was new why it was so sluggish. He just shrugged and said it's a tiny engine in a big truck.

I can see them as a smaller motor, but if I’m not mistaken the 5.7 doesn’t push that much more horsepower. Hmm death flash I’m going to have to look into that and see what it is, my luck my trucks got it, I’m running 285 tires now and about to go to 33” I just lifted it 3”. I also heard I might have to change the gears as well.

Uh, the 5.7 put out 345 hp when it came out in 03 and has 395hp in 4th gens. That's anywhere from 115-165 more horses than the 230 claimed at the crank.

Look for stickers on the rad support and pcm that say "dealer authorized update" or something like that. Chances are, its deathflash but it's not as bad as it seems. All I noticed when I had a tuner was it kept speed better but the trade off is terrible pinging.

285s are 33s. Well, 32.8 anyway. That's what I run with 3.55 gears but I have the stick which has different gearing than the auto. Either way, mine could barely move 265s so I went up and have run three sets of 285s in the last nine years.

These trucks aren't fast. They have good torque though for their size. When I tow, I barely can tell a difference when running empty.
