Power steering nightmare. Please help?
I have a 2007 dodge 2500 5.7 hemi truck. I am havingissues losing my power steer pumps. Original went out month ago. I put two endurance brand pumps refurbished in it. One didn't last 24hrs and the other three weeks. Then I put in a new oil cooler and gear box and new duralast pump. New pump went bad the next day. I replaced one of the pressure hoses as well. Now I bought an original used pumpto see if that made a difference and now it's starting to whine two days later. Nobody can figure out why I am going to through pumps. Any thoughts? I'm Losing my mind. Thanks.

Pretty much correct. Do you have the front wheels off the ground?
I usually will jack up the front, fill the pump, start the engine, turn the wheels a bit, recheck fluid level...... then run the wheels from lock to lock a couple times. Let it sit for 30 minutes for the air that got whipped into the fluid to escape, top it off, and do it again. I keep doing that until I am not seeing any more air in the fluid. Sometimes, that can take a while......

Power steering nightmare
Yes it does. I replaced it. I have a whole new complete system and oil. Just pulled the pressure
line off the power steering pump. Hopefully this is the problem. Looks little dry rotted. Put a new reseviour hose on it too. The pump was whining before I put this on and drove it around the neighborhood and it's not whining now. I have officially replaced every part in the steering system.
