Default No overdrive

Im working on a 02 ram 2500 5.9 gas automatic customer changed transmission twice shifts in all gears but overdrive when checking wire from pcm to speed sensor i found that the signal wire did not get a reading when checked with ohm meter meaning it was broke some place i ran a wire from the pcm to the sensor still no overdrive checked all fuses replace output speed sensor thier was a code for sensor that disappeared after fixing wire and replacing sensor but still no overdrive the od switch does turn the light on when you push it so im assuming the switch is working i dont have the truck here but i was wondering if thier is a kickdown cable on these or is it electronically controlled and would the keep it from overdrive?

There is indeed a kickdown cable. My question is, what year was the donor trans?

Default no idea

I have no idea the customer did the tranny swaps they changed it twice and neither one would shift into overdrive that's why I'm leaning toward something other than the tranny I do now both came from junk yard so I would imagine they would give them a compatible one and everything matched up all the plugs and all that

That assumes the junkyard is familiar with dodge transmissions, and the changes over the years. Any trans from 96 and up will bolt right in, hook right up, but, not necessarily work properly. Things changed in 2000, and the older electronics are not compatible. (and one of the symptoms of that problem is: No overdrive.....) If you have a scanner, see what the PCM thinks trans temp is under various conditions. Stone cold, after driving for a few minutes, and once things are completely warmed up.
