Default power door locks.

Windows go down when unlocking door. 2011 ram express, std cab. Now discovered truck unlocks and windows go down without useing key fob. Windows may go down 4 inches or all the way, both windows. Both fobs not near truck. Been going on since recall for brake pedal- gear shifter interlock performed. Dealer states no connection between recall and recent problem. States did not do any reprogramming. Dealer advises only worked on steering column area.

It would help if you would state the year of your vehicle, maybe some info like, did this just start? Which windows? Using a key or the FOB? Has it always done it? etc. Perhaps as simple as a setting in the radio.

That was a Valiant effort, but you've left us in a bit of a Pickle for trying to interpret your question and issue.

Also, is this only when using the key fob from outside the vehicle, or also when using the lock/unlock switch inside the vehicle? Do all windows go down and the sunroof (if equipped) go down or only a couple of windows? Do you have a second key fob and if so, does it behave the same way?

I'm curious how far away the fobs are when you say "Both fobs not near the truck." Since both windows do it, I'm really suspecting the express down feature is being triggered. I may have the name wrong, but it's a feature where if you press and hold the Unlock button on the fob the doors will unlock and the windows will roll down until either they are all the way down or you release the button. If the unlock button of your fob happens to stick a bit, it might be triggering this feature. One way to test it would be to remove the batteries from your fobs and see if the problem stops happening.

Just pulled batteries from both fobs. I have no exp down other than buttons on doors. Truck has standard equipment radio. Also I removed controls on both doors, still doors unlocked randomly by themselves.

Pulled batts in both remotes. Problem seems to have disappeared. Original remote had a lot of crud around contact points and metal discs detached from rubber buttons . Powered up new original remote (discs intact and no crud) , discovered does have exp down with remote. Left 7 year use old one disassembled for now. Will update in a few days. Thanks for the help.

That's kind of what I was suspecting. Hopefully the issue is as simple as the remote and not a more involved electrical issue. You can probably purchase a replacement remote case and keypad to put your board and battery in once you're convinced the remote was the issue.
