Ramcharger, Trailduster & Power Wagon Grrrr!! Tough Trucks! The Dodge Ramcharger and Plymouth Trailduster were full size SUV's that had good looks and brute strength. The Dodge Power Wagon was comparable to them in toughness, but came in pickup truck form only.

Default 1986 dodge ramcharger wiring issue.

I have a 1986 ramcharger with a 318 and 727 trans. my issue is i have no headlights, the tail lights work, i remade the entire wiring harness across the front of the truck. i have tested all the fusible links and they are all getting power. the headlight switch is brand new and i put in led headlights, the passenger side marker light in the fender is not getting power, and none of the blinkers work, the right blinker on the dash stays lit up solid all the time, where should i go from here?

LED headlights are polarity sensitive. Wired one way, they work, wired another way, they don't.....

I tested the wires going to the headlights with a test light and they are not getting power, so that tells me that it has nothing to do with them being led lights, also since i also put in a regular bulb just to see if they would turn on and still nothing. After i made this post i went and changed all the fuses in the fuse panel, and the relays for the horn and headlights (none were popped, changed them just to get rid of the 30 year old fuses) but long story short still didn't fix my problem. i also came across some info about a body control module? i have never heard of this before, from what i understand it controls all of the lights in the truck, i was told to change it my question about that is is that the same as the ECM (computer on the inner driver side fender)?

Putting off the most painful part?

Best suggestion would be to get a factory service manual for it. They should still be available online. Ebay will likely have them.

I found this company on instagram, it's 179 Garage. They are asking $45 plus shipping for a book they made. From what i believe it covers all the electrical for ramchargers and 12v cummins.

If it isn't the factory manual, no guarantee it'll be accurate.

Does that have a wire harness plug on the firewall? Pull it apart if so and check the connections. Also the LED lights will a need a load resister for them to work properly.
