P1389 Code after new PCM
Accidentally burnt out my old pcm by coolant temperature sensor wires hitting 12v alt cable. The truck had a no bus on mileage and wouldn’t do anything. After purchasing a new pcm already programmed for my truck I put it in and now it cranks but won’t start. The mileage is showing back up but now I’m getting a p1389 code. I swapped wiper motor relay and cleaned the pcm ground cable up real good and still nothing. All fuses have been checked also!
The coolant temp sensor is completly shot and I’m waiting on a new connector so I just have the wires looped Incase that’s causing a no start also. The new battery is reading only 8 bolts on anometer

Wouldn’t it have a code for a crankshaft sensor? I’m stumped with this as wiring is something I’m not good at! If it ran fine until I accidentally shorted the pcm out and now I have a new pcm and it is letting me pull codes and not saying “no bus” anymore on mileage but now throwing a p1389 code and all fuses are good something else might of happened. I’m trying to read wiring diagram for grounds to pcm but I don’t really understand them

Basically, what its telling you is, the PCM isn't getting notice that the ASD relay is actually engaged. If you see power at the coil for a few seconds at key on, then the PCM is indeed controlling the relay, it just can't tell. May be a bad wire, may be a bad PCM. (wouldn't be the first time.)
