I started to get a bad serpentine belt squeek today so I popped the hood and found oil spraying all over th front passenger side of the engine. I believe it is the timing chain cover, is there anyway to check this? I didn't get a picture of it but it also sprayed all over the iner fender on the passenger side. And to top it off my waterpump started leaking as soon as I got home.

 

Check the front crank seal on the front cover closely to see if it may be coming from there. That's the only thing I can think of right off that would allow oil to be slung around on the front of the motor like that.

 

On the diesel when the killer dowel pin comes out in makes a hole right there. I bought a 94 that had a window in the timing case cover and a chunk of aluminum in the oil pump and two spun mains, one rod,stuck piston and a turbo out to lunch. Someone tried to JB weld the hole shut on mine, now I know what to look for.

 

I'm assuming this is a gas motor (5.2 or 5.9) - is this correct?

 

make sure the fan clutch is not wobbling & losing the silicon oil too.

 

Yes its the 318 motor

 

The fan clutch was not wobbling but the entire fan was moving back and forth

 

Sounds like your water pump is really shot if the fan moves back and forth like that. If you haven't already, you should stop driving it and replace the water pump before you have a major failure that could take out more parts.
