2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit SiriusXM Satellite Radio plug and play installation
In the event someone wants to install a plug and play SiriusXM Satellite Radio into their 2015+ Dodge Charger Pursuit/Police and utilize the factory satellite radio antenna: A 2015 Dodge Charger Pursuit (Trim: X5X9) has a stock factory OEM SiriusXM Satellite Radio antenna mounted on the roof. To avoid placing a magnetic mount antenna on the roof or dash, the factory antenna CAN be used for a plug and play satellite radio or an aftermarket headunit.
This vehicle had a VP2 touchscreen Uconnect headunit from the factory (no GPS Navigation or Satellite Radio tuner built into the headunit). The dash panel was removed and was held in by clips. Be careful that a clip does not get stuck/bent when removing the front dash bezel. After the dash/bezel is removed there are 4 screws which hold in the radio/headunit.
On the back of the radio there are four connections. The OEM wiring harness, a USB style connection and two circular clip-in plugs.
The white connector is for the terrestrial radio antenna (AM/FM stations) and the blue connector is for Sirius Satellite Radio XM Satellite Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.
The blue plastic FAKRA housing can be removed to reveal the standard SMB connection (standard antenna plug for all satellite radios).
To prevent any modifications to the vehicle the blue plastic cap/housing can be left on and the following satellite radio antenna extension cable can be used: https://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/s...tension-cable/
Route the cable behind the dash and run the cable to your desired radio mounting location. In this example it is neatly tucked under the arm rest.
The 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit models do not have Sirius or XM Satellite Radio Antennas installed from the factory to my knowledge. You can easily determine this by inspecting the roof for a satellite radio antenna.
Very easy to use the factory satellite radio antenna on a Dodge Charger Pursuit for your SiriusXM plug and play receiver rather than running a magnetic mount antenna. Hopefully this helps someone.
