Default Truck loses power

My truck lost power and the engine died. I rolled to a stop and the engine showed signs of overheating. The radiator fluid was boiling and smoke came from the engine. Does anyone know what may be the problem so I can get it working again?

What are you driving? What engine? How many miles on it? Any previous problems along these lines?
