1985 ramcharger transmission fluid question
Hello fellow dodge owners
just completed some work on my 1985 dodge ramcharger, she is about ready for some pic posts
my question is the transmission fluid is about a quart low, what is your recommendation fluid to use
for a 318, 2 barrel, 2 wheel drive,
its been sitting up for a while, i notice a soft quick shift when driving, also
is it ok to shift manual since it has been a while it was driven.

These used Dexron whe they were built. What ever replaces it now is good to use. As for shifting, you don't HAVE to shift manually. Now, if it takes a bit when you put it in gear to move, try putting it in neutral and count to 5 or so. A worn front seal on the transmission will let the torque converter drain down. Putting it in neutral will let it fill up. I babied a transmission for a good 20,000 miles once like that before a rebuild became necessary.
