10 Trucks that Lived to See Another Ugly Truck Day - July 20
Every man can appreciate an ugly truck that's filled with sentimental memories. In honor of Ugly Truck Day, here are some Dodge trucks that survived to celebrate the holiday and are still hard at work, or play.
1. Hard-Working Hands Are Never Soft
The origins of Ugly Truck Day are rather unclear, but we do know what we celebrate on this day: Our beloved hard working, but ugly trucks. This Dodge truck has seen better days, but that doesn't mean all of its good days are over. The ugly Ram continues to serve its owner well, with or without a pretty face.
2. Rams Are Tough, Not Pretty
Although more popular among men, trucks are loved by women as well, and they prefer them to be ruggedly handsome, with a few scars and character. In the end, it is not about how nice the truck is, it is about how many memories were made with it. This Dodge truck may not be the most pleasing sight for the eyes, but it sure means something to its owner.
3. Ugly Outside - Beautiful Inside
Ugly truck day is popular in Texas more than anywhere else, simply because it is the state that is known to have the most pick-up trucks, and these trucks eventually get ugly. This 1954 Dodge truck has lived a hard life, but it appears to still not be quite ready for retirement. Those snazzy wide whitewall tires likely indicate it is starting a new life as someone's cruising vessel.
4. Grumpy Cat
This 1950 Dodge truck is a dead ringer for Grumpy Cat, and an example that you should never judge a book by its cover. Slapped together with whatever parts were handy, and still sporting the flathead inline six cylinder, this truck is now a 24 Hours of Lemons road racer.
5. Big White Ugly
Nicknamed Big White Ugly, this truck is the perfect pickup to celebrate Ugly Truck Day in. It's no secret that brand-new, shiny trucks are nice, but character is only built as the paint chips away. Big White Ugly may be old and not-so-pretty, but it is definitely not broken.
6. A Golden Heart
It has rust spots, it has poor paint, and it may be an eye sore for some; but for its owner, it has a heart of gold, thanks to its diesel Cummins. This truck reflects all it has been through with its owner, and it seems like it continues to work hard along side as his loyal partner, just like an old hound dog.
7. Unit 2
Many ugly truck owners can point out what each scratch, dent, and chip was from. The bond a truck owner creates with their truck is something special and unique. This Dodge crew cab truck appears to have had a hard-working life, but its life is far from over.
8. Forever Alive
The rougher the truck looks, the more stories it probably holds, and this 1950 Dodge "Pilothouse" truck is a history book. For this trucking holiday, we celebrate by driving our old, ugly trucks into town, and maybe even getting them washed. Whether they're still our daily drivers, or they just sit until you need to haul trash to the dump or pick up lumber, we owe them a nice cruise on July 20th.
9. Memories That Melt the Paint
The memories start piling on as the paint peels away, and this Dodge truck has some secrets of its own. On ugly truck day, jump start your truck, take a cruise, and think of all the fun times you've had together. If your truck could smile it would.
10. The Time Capsule
To some it may be ugly, but to you, it is a best friend that always accompanied you for adventure. This 1969 Dodge truck is old and tired, but it is just waiting to be called up again to serve. If you're in Texas, look out for ugly truck day contests, and remember that losing might actually be better than winning.
