Hummin' and Strummin'

Originally conceived by venerated Italian car designer firm Carrozzeria Ghia, the Dodge Dart has a long tradition steeped in the style that led the compact car class for decades. Leading up to the 1970's the Dart was marketed to the United States automotive consumers as a nimble, sporty, yet roomy vehicle for professionals on the go. By 1970, the Dodge Dart "Swinger" debuted with upgraded performance power, and in turn, putting more pep in the car's step —which had been transformed to a sporty everyday driver.

Rhythm of the Street

This fully restored 1970 Dodge Dart comes complete with a variety of the build’s changes for the 1970 model year. The dual-scoop hood allowed the Dart to flex a muscle-car look, while a reworked interior offered more passenger room. The white pinstripe accent that winds throughout the exterior further enhances the classic sportiness of the car’s look.

Kick Off Your Shoes, Start Losin' the Blues

Taking your seat behind the steering wheel in this Dart's jet-black interior is like a journey back in time. The vehicle's door panels, carpeting and dash remain in like-new condition, complete with a slick faux-wood accent on the instrument panel. The presence of the car's original factory gauges, including tachometer, are rare for vehicles of this pedigree.

Shake Somethin' Loose

This vehicle also displays a rich trend in 1970s American automotive: rather large chrome bumpers. The tail ends of this classic compact are rust free, with their original shimmer still glowing. The 1970 Dart's style-accentuated looks, improved acceleration, and more powerful engine were prove it was a major upgrade of the entry-level models from the early 1960s.

You Got Nothin' to Lose

Dodge discontinued the Dart after the 1976 model, despite the fact that after its 13-year production run it had gained a reputation as one of the most reliable and value-conscience vehicles manufactured by an American automotive company. A short-lived rebirth in June 2012 lasted just four years, the new design, lacking significantly in both performance and style, was panned by critics. That's why motorists of a certain age jump at the chance to embrace the '70s era Darts like this one.
