Special Editions Mark the End of an Era

Dodge is closing the chapter on its V8-powered Durango with a bang, releasing two limited-edition models that celebrate the SUV’s legacy. As the Charger and Challenger have exited the stage, the Durango is following suit with a pair of models that honor the 20-year relationship between the iconic SUV and the Hemi engine.

The Ferocious SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet

The highlight of this farewell tour is the Durango SRT Hellcat Silver Bullet, which packs a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 capable of producing 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque. This beast can hit 0-60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 180 mph. Dodge also claims the Silver Bullet can clear the quarter-mile in 11.5 seconds. Equipped with an all-wheel-drive system and multiple driving modes, including Track and Tow, it’s a versatile powerhouse.

Styling and Features that Set the Silver Bullet Apart

The Silver Bullet boasts unique design elements, like a satin black hood, metallic gray Hellcat badging, and exclusive 20-inch "Lights Out" wheels. The interior continues the upscale vibe with Ebony Red Nappa leather seats, a suede headliner, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system. The price tag reflects the exclusivity—$113,325, making it the most expensive Durango to date.

The More Accessible R/T 20th Anniversary

For those seeking Hemi thrills without the steep price, Dodge offers the Durango R/T 20th Anniversary Edition. Powered by a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V8 delivering 360 horsepower, this edition still provides muscle with a more manageable price tag starting at $66,970. The R/T features a black HEMI hood graphic, "345" fender badging, and 20-inch Y-spoke Brass Monkey wheels. Inside, bronze-accented stitching and carbon-fiber details add a premium feel.

Towing and Utility Remain Priorities

The R/T 20th Anniversary edition doesn’t just look the part—it’s also practical. The SUV includes Dodge’s Tow N Go package, which enhances its towing capacity to 8,700 lbs. The package includes performance-tuned steering, adaptive suspension, and Brembo brakes, making it both a daily driver and a weekend warrior.

A Last Hurrah for the Durango

Both models serve as a nod to Dodge’s legacy of producing high-powered, aggressive vehicles. Although labeled as "limited production," Dodge has not specified exact numbers, leading some to speculate that the real limit is demand. Despite these “last edition” claims, Dodge has a history of bringing back supposed collector’s items.

The Final Roar of the Hemi

With the introduction of these final Durango models, Dodge is solidifying its place in muscle car history while preparing to transition into a new era. Whether it’s the over-the-top Hellcat or the more practical R/T, these editions ensure that the Durango’s V8 legacy ends with a roar, not a whimper.
