Goodbye to the V8

As the 2025 model year approaches, the Ram 1500 pickup truck is set to transition away from the beloved V8 engine in favor of six-cylinder motors. To mark the end of an era, Hennessey has introduced the limited edition Mammoth 400 Sport Truck, complete with handling and styling upgrades. This final homage to the V8 aims to combine performance with aesthetics, offering enthusiasts a memorable farewell to the classic engine.

Enhanced Performance

Hennessey has partnered with Fox Factory to enhance the Mammoth 400’s suspension system. The Fox/Ridetech suspension lowers the truck’s center of gravity and improves handling, making it feel more like a sports SUV or crossover. While the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine remains unchanged with 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque, the upgraded suspension promises a more controllable and engaging driving experience.

Distinctive Design

The Mammoth 400 stands out with aggressive exterior modifications, including a new front bumper, carbon fiber splitter, and sporty side skirts. Optional 22-inch wheels come in satin black or gloss black milled dark tint finishes. The truck’s striking appearance is further enhanced by its performance exhaust system with carbon fiber tips, solidifying its sporty aesthetic.

Patriotic Colors

Hennessey’s Mammoth 400 pays tribute to Mopar’s heritage with iconic color schemes. Customers can choose from GTS Blue, Viper Red, or Viper White, all accented by twin Viper Stripes. These color choices nod to Hennessey’s ties with Dodge and Viper fans, bringing a vibrant, patriotic flair to the truck’s design.

Exclusivity and Availability

Only 250 units of the Mammoth 400 will be produced, each featuring unique Hennessey badging and a serial-numbered engine plaque. The truck will also come with a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. Priced at $39,995 for the package (excluding the donor truck), the Mammoth 400 will be available through Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, or Ram dealerships.

New Engine Era

While the HEMI V8 bids farewell, the new Hurricane inline-six motor steps in with impressive power. The Standard Output variant offers 420 hp and 469 lb-ft of torque, while the High Output version delivers a remarkable 540 hp and 521 lb-ft. These engines promise to carry the Ram 1500’s legacy forward with enhanced performance and efficiency.

A Unique Farewell

The Mammoth 400 is not just a tribute to the HEMI V8 but a celebration of American motoring heritage. As John Hennessey, the company’s founder and CEO, states, "Our Mammoth 400 Ram celebrates American independence with patriotic colors combined with the 'fireworks' that only the Hemi V8 engine can deliver!" This limited edition sport truck serves as a fitting and memorable farewell to the iconic V8 engine.
