Another Special Edition

Dodge has introduced the 2025 Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead, a special edition celebrating 20 years of the HEMI-powered truck. As Dodge transitions away from V8s, the Hammerhead arrives as one of the last (several) to feature the brand's iconic supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. With only a few years left before Dodge introduces its next generation of electric and gas-powered SUVs, the Hammerhead offers a powerful sendoff for the Durango series.

Understated Performance

The Hammerhead stands out with its more restrained design, combining Night Moves (dark blue) exterior paint with a Satin Black hood and polished exhaust tips. The 20-inch Satin Carbon wheels provide a refreshing contrast to the typically popular black or diamond-cut finishes. Despite the subtle appearance, this SUV still demands attention with its unique look and finishes that hint at the beast lurking beneath the surface.

Refined Interior

Inside, the seats are trimmed in Hammerhead Grey Laguna leather, with embroidered SRT Hellcat logos and silver and sepia stitching accents throughout. The interior’s luxury is further elevated with a leather-suede steering wheel, forged carbon fiber trim, black chrome details, and a plush suede headliner.

Heart of a Beast

At its core, the Hammerhead retains the performance specs of the standard Hellcat Durango. Powered by the monstrous supercharged 6.2-liter V8 Hellcat engine that delivers 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, the Durango races from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. The quarter-mile is conquered in 11.5 seconds, with a top speed of 180 mph. These numbers ensure the Hammerhead retains its muscle car status even in an SUV body.

Premium Price

With a starting price of $113,720 (before a $1,595 destination fee), the Hammerhead sits firmly in premium territory. As such, it comes loaded with features like a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, wireless charging, and a 10.1-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and GPS navigation. For those who crave a balance of luxury and performance, the Hammerhead offers plenty of both, especially as it marks the end of an era for Dodge's powerful V8 engines.

A Limited Run

Notably, the Durango SRT Hellcat Hammerhead is not classified as a "Last Call" model, which likely means there will be even more special edition models derived from the Durango Hellcat platform before the model rides off into the sunset. The special edition will be available in both the U.S. and Canada, with the Canadian version priced at $155,030 CAD. However, ordering the vehicle may be challenging due to the company's outdated systems, which in a way, adds an element of exclusivity to this model!
