1. It has begun...

Yesterday, the day Dodge officially starting taking orders for the Demon, was the big day that so many Mopar fans have been eagerly anticipating since the car was unveiled back in April of this year. Well, that is if the dealership was chosen as one to hold one of the sought after 9-second cars. The sucky truth of the matter is that only 3,000 of these cars were allocated for stateside and a paltry 300 for our cousins up north in Canada. This translates into the unfortunate matter that there's a good chance your local dealership didn't even get one in stock.

2. Who's seen a Hellcat?

So getting back to brass tacks here, if your dealership may get a Demon, just know that it's based on sales of the Charger and Challenger Hellcat. To put it bluntly, if there are little to no Hellcats in your neck of the woods, then don't expect to see a Demon make its appearance. However, if your nearest dealership DOES happen to get one in stock then be prepared to deal with a hefty markup in addition to the MSRP of $84,995.

3. It costs how much?!

Speaking of the high price of the Demon Tim Kuniskis, head of Passenger Cars for Dodge, SRT, Chrysler, and Fiat for North America said “We worked very hard to build as much value into the Challenger SRT Demon as possible — features, performance, and exclusivity that simply can’t be duplicated with a goal of maintaining, and possibly even growing, as much future value as possible.”

4. Those who pay less will be first to get it

That being said, if you actually happen to get your hands on an upcoming Demon at or below the MSRP, then Dodge will do you a solid by pushing your order right to the front of the line. Dodge is doing what it can to put the cars in the garages of those who paid the least first. The Demon makes 808 horsepower and 717 lb-ft of torque on 91 octane gas or 840 horsepower and 770-lb-ft of torque on race gas. 62% of the car is all new compared to the Hellcat variant with changes including a new crankshaft, pistons, connecting rods, supercharger, and engine block.

5. What will it take to catch a Demon?

If you're determined to get your hands on a new Demon then you should travel to the nearest Dodge dealership that moves Hellcats in heavy volume and becoming very good friends very quickly with the sales managers. Hopefully, you can become such good friends that you not only get to buy a Demon but you also skip out on the markup and get a discount so you can get it sooner. In short, if you've got a fat stack of cash burning a hole in your bank account then good luck and may mother Mopar look down fondly upon you.
