1. Dodge Ram showed off something special at the Chicago Auto Show

Known for their heavy-duty performance trucks, Ram's looming Night package design proves they're not afraid of a little bonus style too when the situation calls for it. Unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, all eyes were on Ram's special edition vehicles. Of the fresh vehicles shown at CAS, the Night Edition 3500 may well have been the best looking of them all.

2. The Night package is an aesthetic redux of the Ram 2500

The Night Edition Ram 3500 emphasizes dark, brooding accents, the likes of which you wouldn't associate normally with the Ram brand. Although it's more or less identical to the standard Ram 3500 from a performance perspective, extra care has been invested in making this model look as good as it can be. Lightning bezels, 20-inch wheels, black accents and optional black running boards are among the Night design's defining exterior features-- and while black seems like the natural color for this vehicle, it comes in your standard range of paint hues.

3. The model comes with a deceptively luxurious interior

Heated vinyl bucket seats. Automatic climate controls. Power adjustable pedals and customization options galore. Yeah, who knew what they were talking about when someone said trucks couldn't be luxurious? Ram designed the interior with some extra effort this time, and it shows.

4. The design is based off of the similar 1500 Night Ram

The Ram Rebel Black was recently given its own showcase at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. With the Ram Rebel Black, truck fans had a fresh sight of a Ram 1500 in dark regalia. Reception for that version was obviously positive because Ram decided to transfer that same black-accented design strategy onto the 2500 and 3500 HD models as well.

5. The Night Edition still packs the familiar Ram punch

The Night models' aesthetic charm comes at no cost to the trademark strength and intensity of the Ram name. From a perspective of technical specs, Ram customers will have options with the Night package. The Night skin is offered on both the 2500 and 3500 HD models, with a choice between 4WD and two-wheel drive further adding to the basic choices. There's a selection of engines as well: a prospective Night buyer can equip the truck with a 6.7L Cummins Diesel I6, 6.4L Hemi V8 or a 5.7L Hemi V8.

6. It will come in a standard variety of paint colors

The Night Ram has gone out of its way to assert both its unique aura and penchant for black. While the overwhelming black theme of the truck makes a choice of paint seem like a no-brainer question, the Night Ram comes with all of the same color options as a regular 2500 or 3500. We think the pure sheen of white suits the truck best; with so much white in view, the powerful black accents pop out even more.

7. The Night Edition will be available soon at a dealer near you

The time of the Night Ram is nigh. They've already started to be run through the production line. When they're available later on this year, prices will begin at $45,520. It may not be a price with any strict budget in mind, but the Night Ram will come with all the same dependable might of the Ram brand with the added blessing of aesthetic charm and collectibility to spice up its appeal.
