No more than nine early ’70s E-Body 426 Hemis have ever been together in the same place. The 2015 Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals in Chicago, Illinois flexed hard and shattered that record by putting 27 of the 42 ever built under one magical roof.

A major contributor to the display was the Brothers Collection, a massive assortment of muscle cars, who brought nine of these beauties for the world to see. According to the Hagerty valuation tool, each cars is valued at more than $600,000. But ask muscle car enthusiast and event organizer Charley Lillard, and these Hemi convertibles are worth up to $2,000,000 apiece!  He even mentions that one of these cars has coaxed a $5,000,000 offer, which was eventually turned down. If that’s the case, that means, this was a $50,000,000 muscle car gathering. That’s unheard of. That’s how coveted these cars are.

Muscle Car of the Week presenter Kevin Oeste spoke with Lillard about just how special the entire show — which also included a Buick G.S. Stage 1 section and naturally a boat-load of incredible Corvettes — really was. Check out the video below; it’s worth it simply seeing the cars huddling in a pack.
