Recall for windshield defroster....

Chrysler has issued a recall for 37,407 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with manual temperature controls. The software for the heating ventilation and air conditioning module may not work, causing the windshield defrosting and defogging functions to fail. This could become dangerous if visibility becomes impaired while driving.

Dealers will reprogram the module for free. Owners may contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236.

Chrysler is recalling 72,136 2008 model year light-duty and 2008-09 model year heavy-duty Ram pickups built between April 14-October 24, 2008 to fix a problem that may cause the windshield wipers to fail. The wiper module motor assembly may be susceptible to water intrusion that could result in partial or complete loss of windshield wiping capability. If that happens, visibility will be reduced.
Dealers will replace the wiper module assemblies with vented wiper motor housings free of charge. Owners can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403 for more information.
The recall is National Highway Traffic Safety Administration campaign ID number 09V084000.

I recieved a notice in the mail from my dealer. Mine were replaced.

Default Wheel shake

Here is one for wheel shake, good reading
2009 Dodge Truck RAM 1500 2WD V8-5.7L

Vehicle Level Technical Service Bulletins All Technical Service Bulletins Wheels/Tires - Vehicle Vibration/Shake At Highway Speed Wheels/Tires - Vehicle Vibration/Shake At Highway SpeedNotesNUMBER: 22-001-09
GROUP: Wheels/Tires
DATE: Pending Approval
SUBJECT:
Vehicle Vibration Or Shake At Highway Speed
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin provides information to diagnose vehicle vibration concerns at or during PDI or if the vehicle is stored for a length of time prior to delivery.
MODELS:
2009 (DS) Ram Truck (1500)
DISCUSSION:
Tires used on the 1500 Ram models can develop a temporary flat spot when sitting on the lots and or while being shipped. This condition is more prevalent on 4 x 4 Models with 20" tires and wheels due the additional weight on the front tires from the unique components (i.e., front axle and transfer case). Weather is a critical factor and temperatures significantly above and below normal temperatures can temporarily "flat spot tires when vehicles are shipped by car hauler or rail or if vehicles are stored for an extended period. The vibration may be felt in the steering wheel and I or seat, and may be most noticeable at highway speeds, 60mph (96 kph). This may be misinterpreted as an out of balance tire.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the tires are flat-spotted due to shipping or sitting in the lot for an extended period, the vehicle vibration will go away after the tires are warmed up, (normally 10 to 20 miles of highway driving depending on outside temperatures).
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1.Road test vehicle 10-20 miles to allow the tires to obtain operating temperature.
2.If highway driving doesn't resolve the vehicle vibration, follow the procedures outlined on DealerCONNECT>TechCONNECT > Group 22 - Tires and Wheels.
NOTE :Replacing tires should only be done as a last resort after all appropriate wheel and tire diagnostics have been completed. U.S. dealers can contact the MOPAR tire program if assistance is needed with obtaining any tire. Canadian dealers can contact the MOPAR tire program if assistance is needed with obtaining any tire.
POLICY:
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.

I was just thinking, they must have moved my truck around a lot, but it only had like 5 km's when we got it so that's like one test drive, we didn't even test drive this one I don't think, one like it exactly but not this one. What I am getting at is my truck was built oct/08 and I got it in Mar /09 so it sat for 6 months, we had no choice but to hit the highway as soon as we got it because the dealer is 100km's away, there was no vibration, no whistle, I think I got lucky(knock on wood). I don't go for that flat spot thing, I think Goodyear is having problems with bigger tires, I say this because of the large amount of weight on each wheel. I bet those people just have balancing issues because of crappy tires even though they say that is not the case. I would say a vehicle sitting in one spot for 6 months would have a flat spot at least one? Never liked Goodyear, I used to have a delivery business and whenever I put Goodyears on, and I tried different models, and even over kill for weight ratings, I got flat tires occasionally. Never with any other tires. I have found that BFGoodrich have been the best for me so far, I think I will for fun since I have a 4x4 put an aggressive tread design tire for winter.

Default Interesting - wonder if it's related to my HVAC issue

According to the VIN lookup, mine has no open recalls but ...

... for some reason, my A/C seems to go into some sort of "odd" condition on occasion for no particular reason. Can be running A/C in dash or mix dash/floor without recirculation, hear "something" (sort of a hissing sound) toward the lower passenger side of the dash and the blower noise increases as if it were going into recirculate on its own. There's a little difference when it does this and I turn on recirculate, but it doesn't change back to the quieter airflow when I turn it back off.

The only way to make it normal (quieter) is to turn the control somewhere right of floor so that a "little bit" of defrost is on, leave it for a few seconds, and then turn it back to dash or dash/floor. Sometimes this works, and sometimes it goes back into the "odd" mode within a few seconds.

Anyone having anything similar? Programming issue or one of the HVAC doors acting up? Do these use vacuum or electronic motors on the doors and baffles?

NOTE :This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a MyGIG radio (sales code REN or REZ).
DISCUSSION:
When performing repairs that require battery cable removal, the feed fuse for the radio (3Oamp, for fuse location please consult DealerConnect, TechConnect, or Fuse Cover) must be removed prior to disconnecting or reconnecting the battery. Disconnecting and Reconnecting the battery can cause electrical spikes that may damage the MyGig - REN or REZ radio. Removal of the fuse will prevent this from occurring.
