Just wondered if anyone else has had headlights go out probs before? When I bought "blue" about a year & a 1/2 ago...I knew there was a problem, bought a new switch before taking a part...saw that the plug-in/harness was kind of...well got hot....Just wondered if any 1 else has had....Thanks for comments ahead of time!.....GAS

 

I do remember hearing about the 98 style switches getting hot and melting the connectors before. Probably why they went to the newer style switch for 99.

So did the new switch take care of your problem?

 

For the about year & a 1/2 of ownership its worked well, but when I replaced it, I saw it was kind of melted. I`ve got an older buddy thats a retired....wait for it, wait for it....lol...Ford mechanic..LOL! He told/advised me to replace the whole harness/connector! I just wanted to get on here & ask if it was a common problem. Thank you that_guy for your help!....GAS
