My Durango RT has begun starting out in 2nd gear. We took it in to the shop where they mechanic noticed a transmission (?) cable had loosened near the back of the engine. Now bear with me because I am not 100% sure what it was called. Once adjusted and tightened the truck no longer started out in second but now my check engine light(a picture of either the transmission or the engine in bottom left corner of Information Center) has come on...any ideas on what it could possibly be? Trani is still shifting smoothly.

 

If you have a 00 or newer you can pull the code yourself by cycling the key on and off 3 times on the 3rd time just leave it in the on position and write down any codes in the odo. Afterwards look up the code/s in the engine code index at the top of the page and let us know (It's repetitive huh guys let's get the code pulling ability stickied ) if you have a 98-99 go to autozone they will pull the code for free.
