Infamous Speed Sensor. Help Needed...

Infamous Speed Sensor. Help Needed...
Hey guys,
Quick question. As a stated in a previous post my speedo went completely out. So I went to auto zone today and picked up a new Speed Sensor and installed it.
Took the truck out for a drive and it never picked up past 15mph, (went well over 15mph) The odometer started work as well. I only changed the sensor not the wiring that was supplied with it. Just used the old wiring, because I could not find a connection to plug the supplied wire in.
I also noticed that the old speed senor was not on very tight. I put the new one on tighter then the last. Could this be an issue? I didnt have any spec on how much to torque it. any help would be great!!!
