OK THIS INFO IS BASED OFF MEMORY AND HOW I DID MY FIRST ONE WHICH WAS A 85 2WD AUTO THAT WAS ORIGINALLY A 318/999/8 1/4 CARBURATED AND SWAPPED TO A 440/727 8 3/4....

1. A RUNNING BIG BLOCK DONOR CAR

THIS SIMPLFIES THINGS ALOT CONSIDERING ALL ACC. BRACKETS AND THIS SAVES ALOT OF TIME NOT HAVING TO CHASE DOWN STUFF LIKE PULLEYS AND SUCH... INSTEAD OF BUYING JUST CORE MOTOR

2. AT LEAST A 3-CORE RADIATOR, DEPENDING ON YOUR YEAR AND HOW GOOD YOUR LOCAL PARTS GUY IS YOU WILL MOST LIKLY HAVE TO GET ONE FOR A ORDER TRUCK OR A HEAVIER DUTY (D200,D300) TRUCK. BE AWARE THAT BIG BLOCK CAME WITH DIFFERENT WATER PUMP HOUSINGS WITH EXITS ON OPPISITE SIDES SEE 440SOURCE.COM ARTICLE ABOUT THIS.

3. ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKETS FOR A 78 440 TRUCK THESE USED TO BE AVAL. FROM THE DODGE DEALER,GOOD LUCK NOWADAYS. HERE IS A GOOD PLACE http://www.bouchillonperformance.com/

4. BIG BLOCK TRUCK (SPECIFIC) OIL PAN,PICK UP TUBE AND DIPSTICK SET UP

5. TRANNY DIPSTICK FROM A BIG BLOCK TRUCK,CAR ONES WILL NOT FIT(AT LEAST C-BODYS WONT) OR A UNIVERSAL FROM LOKAR(GOOGLE IT)

6 TRANNY KICKDOWN LINKAGE FROM A BB TRUCK OR THE CABLE SET UP THAT LOKAR ALSO SELLS

7 EITHER TRUCK BB MANIFOLDS (WHICH OUR CENTER DUMP EXIT) HI PO CAR MANIFOLDS WONT WORK(THE PASS SIDE WILL) BUT THE DRIVER JUST PLAN WONT FIT...OR A SET OF BB HEADER FROM HEADMAN PT# 79220 I THINK...YOU WILL HAVE TO GRIND A LITTLE ON THE TOP OF YOUR FRAME SO THEY FIT EASIER....IT WONT HURT ANYTHING..JUST DONT GO NUTS...TEST GRIND TEST GRIND....

8. IF YOU STARTED WITH A 727 TRANNY THEN YOUR DRIVESHAFT WILL FIT. IF NOT IT WILL HAVE TO BE CUT ....OR GET ONE FROM A TRUCK LIKE YOURS WITH A 727...

9. AS FAR AS MOUNTING THE ENGINE YOUR TRUCK HAS ( OR SHOULD I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE V6 TRUCKS) 2 SETS OF HOLES FOR THE MOUNTS ...AND THIS WHERE I GET FUZZED ...THE SMALL BLOCKS GO IN THE FRONT SET AND THE BB/ /6'S GO IN THE BACK SET OR EITHER VICE VERSA ....A BIG BLOCK ONLY FITS ONE WAY.. THE FIRSWALL WILL LET YOU KNOW WHICH FOR SURE...

10. GET A BRAKE BOOSTER FROM THE LOCAL PARTS STORE FOR A 89 D200. ITS A SAMLL DIAMETER BOOSTER A GIVES CLEARENCE TO GET THE DVR SIDE VALVE COVER OFF. IF YOU HAVE THE PANCAKE LOOKING BOOSTER YOU WILL NOT GET THE VALVE COVER OFF A 440..WITHOUT PULLING THE BOOSTER OR EITHER BENDING THE VALVE COVER UP .....

11. OF COURSE THERE ARE OTHER THINS LIKE LENGTHING THE DISTRUBTOR PLUG AND I CUT THE ENDS(COMING FROM THE BALLST RESISTOR ALL THE WAY TO THE DIST.) FROM THE DONOR CAR AND SPICED THEM IN USING THE FACTORY PLUGS..

12. A 727 WILL SWAP INPLACE OF A 904/999 YOU MAY HAVE TO SLOT THE HOLES IN THE MOUNT BRACKET..I DID..

13. IF YOUR TRUCK CAME WITH A 8 1/4 REAR END.....KISS IT GOODBYE! REMEMBER THIS REAR HAS C-CLIP RETAINED AXLES SO IT STUFF BUST AND THE C-CLIP COME OF THE END OF THE AXLE .THE AXLE WILL WALK OUT (NOT FUN) GET SOMETHING STRONGER!

14. IF I REMEBER ANYTHING ESLE OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS I WILL POST IT HERE....STAY TUNED....
