Default 3rd gen wheels fit on first gen d150?

Has anyone put the factory 3rd gen 20 inch aluminum wheels on a first gen d100 or d150? I did a search on here but didn't find anything. Maybe i just missed it. I have an 86 d150 that I need to get new tires for. If those 20's from a 3rd gen would fit without spacers or adapters it would be great. I see several sets of those for sale locally.

The stock rims from my '03 1500 OffRoad do not look like they'd fit without spacers. That would negate the center register issue. The Gen IIIs used a 9/16 stud however, if that makes a difference, seats for the alloys would be a bit bigger on newer rims. FWIW I run '15 2500 rims on my '85 W350.

No.

You can make them fit with adapters, but you said you don't want to do that. 2002 and later have different lug stud holes too.

I searched and found this. This is exactly what I’m wanting to do. I know I will need spacers but 1.5” or do I need 2”. Has anyone done this.

Compare the backspacing of the original and newer wheels. That difference is how much spacer you need.

IF you want to push the tires out a little, go for more.
