Default Electrical Fire

I was driving down the road when my radio died then headlights then truck. The battery was steaming and now i only have the dome light as long as the key isnt in the on postion. What is Fuse seven for? It is the only fuse I have power to which is 8.5V. If the key is on then it drops to .7v. What is fuse 7 for, wire colors, anything related to that fuse.

Well it is now but was that the problem? I just bought the optima battery two months ago. I'm gonna replace that to start with and go from there. Is there anyway to check the voltage regulator without starting the truck?

no way to check the regulator without starting the truck. you could possibly disconnect the battery after you start the truck. truck should stay running. if not you might have an issue somewhere.

New battery and it started great. Voltage regulator checked bad. Replaced and everything is good... except the tach. It reads half of idle and wont go over 1k without being goofy.
