Default 1985 Steering issues.. PLEASE HELP!?

I have an 1985 1 ton 4x4. The steering is not very responsive. Components are tight. Drag link, tie rod ends, ball joints..ect in good shape. Steering wheel has little to no slop. Tires wear evenly, with no cupping, shaping, cutting...ect.
Truck tends to wander, and I find myself "floating" from center line to shoulder often. Am I looking at a misadjustment in toe? Possibly needs toed in more? I don't want to ruin a set of tires over it, but I have to drive this thing 2000 miles next week, all on interstates, with a trailer. I would feel better if it was more responsive. Thanks in advance guys!

I would tend to agree, but: Been there, done that. Lol. Mine is rock solid. I have *******ly zero play in the steering wheel.

Sounds like a trip to alignment shop to see what they say.
Most time's they will check front end for free to see what needs replaced.

Sounds like good advice. I think I'll do that. I'll post back when I get results! Thanks.
