Default Is this the electric choke switch?

I'm having problems with the choke opening too soon after the garage (during obligatory annual safety check) re-rigged the wiring to the electrical choke. Unfortunately I cannot recall the original wiring. My car is a 1984 W350 4x4 360 CID V8 four barrel carb.

I'm trying to solve the problem and found the module indicated in the yellow circle in the picture. Could this be the electric choke switch? If so, how to best connect it? If not, what is it?

Thanks.

PS: I measured 10.4 ohm resistance between the two connectors. Ran the engine for 10 minutes on idle but this did not change resistance (did also not really heat the element).

the electric choke is to the right in that picture, that round black solonoid directly under the air cleaner with 2 wires going to it. what you have circled looks like a resistor. they used those on cars back in the 50s and 60s when they had points instead of electronic ignition, they cut back the volts going to the coil, so it wouldn't burn up the coil if i remember right. i don't think they used them for the choke.

i had a 85 ram charger, and an 86 ram 250, both 318s no electric choke on either of them, they had the thermo type of choke shut-off. and neither one had the white resistor on the intake either. the 68 plymouth i had didn't have that white resistor located on the intake, it was on the firewall on the driver side, next to the brake booster. and that also had the thermo type shut off. just worked on a 79 ram 150 with a 318, and that had a vacuum type choke. and again, no white resistor, the coil was located where that resistor is.
