Default Engine swap questions

I'm debating on buying a 90 w150 and it needs a crank. I was wondering what I would need to swap its v6 to a 318. Would the v6 transmission and transfer case work, if anything could I at least use the transfer case or does that have to change also. And funds are tight so how hard would the crank be to replace on my own if I choose to?

iF YOU CHOOSE TO SWAP YOU WOULD JUST NEED TO CHANGE OUT THE MOTOR MOUNTS. IM NOT SURE ABOUT THE TRANSFER CASE BUT I WOULD IMAGINE ITS THE SAME ON THE V8'S. IF YOU CHOOSE TO KEEP YOUR MOTOR YOU NEED TO DO MORE THAN JUST SWAP THE CRANK. IF THE CRANK IS SHOT YOU CAN BET YOU NEED A LOT MORE MACHINE WORK TO YOUR BLOCK THAN JUST SWAPPING THE CRANK.

So it would be the engine and transmission swap most likely, because it wouldn't be worth fixing the engine. Thanks for the help.

In the long run it will cost you the same either way. You could get the motor completely rebuilt and have a nice reliable truck. ask your local machine shop what it would cost to rebuild that six cylinder.

Well I'm just not a big fan of v6s as it is. I don't hate them but i like the v8s more. I don't need anything huge so I really like the 318s.
