somthing. iam NOT trans expert, but i would like to note. when a newer mopar trans goes south some times it puts trash in the cooler lines, this will burn the bearings out cause the cooler lines also lube trans bearings. there is a check valve in the rad and it will hold trash. i can give you the name of a copany, but i cant post it here. e-mail me if you want moe7404@att.net
You can post here. If you have any problems with people flaming you, PM me and ill take care of it for you. No reason a person with good info should be flamed for any reason, as long as you stay within the DF rules and regulations i have no problem with your posts.

Thanks for helping him.

i dont see why that trans wouldnt fit. i know there are 4x4 rams with 46re's. maybe the mounts or something will be different but im sure you could make it work.

it has a different housing which is for 2wd. Not sure if you can just remove the tail shaft but I don't think so.

Here is a pic of a 2wd 46re i believe:

The od unit contains the tail shaft. So if you wanted to use a 46re from a r/t you would probably have to change the OD unit (which sucks so it's a good upgrade time) I would just source out a 46re from a ram and call it done.

Thumbs up Thanks for the great advice

Everyone here has been extremely helpful. Here's the listing for the 46RE I was talking about: http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/pts/1028481528.html

He replied to my email regarding the condition and he said it was in good working order.

In the meantime I'll just keep looking. Thanks again for all of your input.

Josh
