Your vehicle might be covered under a warranty extension, however. The dealer should check VIP to verify if a vehicle has a Warranty Extension. You could contact the dealer again, asking if the vehicle is covered for fuel spit back during refueling.

2006 dodge Durango gas tank
My 2006 dodge Durango doesn't like gas. It will only take penny before it splits most of it back out. After finding out the tank was leaking . Got the leak fix and found out that was how the tank was breathing. Once the leak was fixed the dodge doesnt like gas. So got a Replacement on the carbon cylinder. Still the same thing. Now they say I need a new gas tank cause I can't get gas to go in. Really Dodge? You know about 2005. You used the same tank on 06. This is a defect. Any updates?

Gas tank reject gas/over flow issue
The gas tanks/fuel delivery system systems have a defect that can evidence itself in a few ways. Most of us that have had issues had overflow problems when pumping gas. That is to say, the gas spills out of the receptacle and overflows upon automatic shutoff. However, the mirror problem that many have faced is a type of gas fill restriction wherein the tank will not receive gas or fill properly, by shutting off the pump hose before gas can be filled. I have faced both problems at different times, as I have had three 2006 Durangos!
Both of these issues are due to a defect in the design or mis-manufacture of the gas tank system. They are covered in a technical service bulletin (TSB) issued by Chrysler. Find the TSB (it should be listed in this post), and read each and every post in this thread. Upon doing so you will learn of the problem, and remedies. I believe that Chrysler has a recall on the gas tanks, and will possibly cover the cost of the repairs. Again, that info should be in this thread.
Any Chrysler dealer that tells you that he/she isn't aware of the issue is either incompetent or lying. There is a TSB on the problem. Seek a new Dodge dealer. Trust me, I have seen several different dealers over the years, and I have seen quite a range of competency amongst them.
Good luck, and keep us informed. There are good people here to help!

1st visit to correct issue
Hello All, Just to give you an update as promised.
I took the Durango into the dealership for the replacement on the filler neck, and the other recall on the airbag.
they did the airbag, but after an overnight stay at the dealership the Durango does need the filler neck replaced, it is the problem which will be totally covered, but they need to order it and do not know when they will receive it.
OMGoodness, this truck is used for work.......so we are stuck with the inconvenience of spending over a half hour at the gas station to get the truck to take a whole $10.00......yay

Glad to hear you are making progress. If the part you need is back-ordered, I would suggest that you get the specific part number (that you need) and call several dealers in the area. You may get lucky, and find the part. However, usually, Chrysler is pretty good about getting parts in. Your dealer should tell you when the part will be available, or at least give you a ball park estimate of availability. BTW once the correct part is installed your problem will go away. I'm on my 3rd "06" Durango Limited, and have been through the issue a few times. Keep us posted, and good-luck!
