ha i wish my dealer was like that, i said something to the women that are the service reps at my dealer and they acted like they never heard of this issue and told me i was dumb for believing anything i found on the web, anyone know any dealer in or around MD who are douchbags ?

 

I've been using this dealer for over ten years...thousands $ in new vehicles, maintenance, and mechanical/auto body repairs. I would like to think they treat all their customers like they do me. Copy the links in my previous post about the TSB and websites that list the complaints filed (post #218), go back to that dealer or go to another dealer and if they say your wrong tell'em to look up the links. They can also go on you tube and search "Durango gas overflow" and find several videos of the problem.

yea i mentioned the video's , they didnt seem to care..

 

I had my tank replaced a week ago because of this overflow issue. Now when I go to fill, the pump clicks off about every few gallons. I'm going to take it back to the shop but is there anything I can look?

There is a new TSB on this issue which involves an unlimited time and mileage warranty extension on the fuel filler tube due to a bad check valve. I am posting the TSB now. Anyone who owns one of the affected vehicles and is on file with Chrysler as the current owner will be getting something in the mail indicating the extended warranty on this part. It will also have instructions on where to send for reimbursement if you have already paid to have this part fixed. If there are any questions regarding this issue I would recommend a call to the Chrysler Assistance Center at the numbers listed below.

no love for 2005's?

 

So, I paid $200.00 while the dealer wrote off the balance of $700.00 (was quoted $900.00, but Chrsyler picked up the balance after my $200.00) for replacing the inlet tube and gas tank. I can get the money back since I have a 2007 Durango?

The TSB is VIN specific and does not cover my 2007 Durango according to the lady at Chrysler Group customer help,

fascistfaction, it appears from DodgeCares post that this TSB was issued today and only requires the fuel filler tube and splash gaurd to be replaced...might want to check back with your dealer.

A limited number of 2005's have already been recalled for a similar issue. If the warranty extension or recall below is expanded I will post as soon as it comes out. 2005 recall info below.

Fuel Tank Inlet Check Valve
2005 (HB) Dodge Durango
NOTE: This recall applies only to the above vehicles built from October 13, 2004
through November 30, 2004 (MDH101300 through 113023).
The fuel tank inlet check valve on about 18,900 of the above vehicles may stick in
the open position. This can cause fuel to spill out of the filler tube when the
vehicle is being refueled. Fuel in the presence of an ignition source can result in a
fire.
The fuel tank inlet check valve must be tested for proper operation. Vehicles with
a sticking check valve must have the fuel tank replaced.
Models
IMPORTANT: Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer used vehicle
inventory. Dealers should complete this recall service on these vehicles before
retail delivery. Dealers should also perform this recall on vehicles in for service.
