I had no battery problem. I was a transmission problem. It don't apply to this thread. From an eariler conversation on another thread. So since knowledge is power, my 2002 2.7 xmission decided not to play anymore when the xmission was changing between 1st and 2nd gear. Lots of metal on metal sounds resulted (sorta like a NASCAR crash) Stuck in 2nd gear. Bla bla bla....After it was rebuilt, it required a "flash" (a technical term the service tech used) to be programed again. That's about it!! Hope this helps....

wow. I never heard of any tcm needing to be flashed after a rebuild. I usually do a 'quick learn' which just orientates the TCM that it has a new trans. there is NO 'flash' needing to be done.

Just take your car to any major autoparts store, like Pep Boys, and they will clear the code for free with their scanner.

INCORRECT, they will read the code. THEY will NOT reset a code, although they may let instruct you on how to do so.
