Default 01 neon trouble help!!

2001 neon es.
-new wires
-new plugs
-new cam position sensor

i was driving home and a few miles from home i feel the car hesitating to accelerate and pick up speed. barely making it home. i turn the car off go in get some tools and try starting the car and it doesn't want to start cranks hard wants to start but doesn't. then it starts rough then dies. if i try to give it gas it bogs down and dies. so i do the normal things. change plugs and wires. try to start same thing starts rough idles then dies. i do some reading and pick up a cam position sensor. install it struggles to start. a few cranks later it starts and idles pretty good as soon as i try to give it gas it bogs down again and dies.

car shows me a P0171, P0508.
i read it could be the o2 sensor might be faulty and think its running lean and adding fuel causing it to over add fuel and die. i was told to test this by unplugging the upstream sensor then removing the battery so the computer forgets lean fuel situation. i try to start it up a few cranks it starts then dies.

I'm being pointed in the direction of a IAC. i took this off cleaned it looked at it turn the key and it actuated opens and closes. it had a buzz for a bit when the key is in the on position now its gone. tested it more it still buzzes.

any ideas. thank you in advance for your time

Check the wiring and connector to the cam position sensor and the crank position sensor. They are connected in their functions.

You should focus on clearing those codes first.

still chasing the problem. i pulled out the 02 to see if it was a plugged cat. nope still ran the same started really rough then died. I'm now looking into testing the injectors. might just buy a new crank sensor.

Have you checked the vacuum hoses to and from the throttle body and the wiring to/from the IAC, if you are sure the IAC valve itself is good? A problem with the IAC circuit will cause your car to idle like hell, if at all. The system too lean code could potentially be caused by a vacuum leak too. Give everything a good visual inspection.
