Default 1500 Frame Thickness

So my truck stays at my parents house because they have enough parking for it. I was over there the other day and got under the truck, and noticed a small quarter sized spot on the frame where it looks like it's going to rust through. It's on the front part of the frame, near the steering box, it's on the bottom right there. I didn't think to take a picture, will do the next time I'm over there. I've got a 135amp mig welder, just wondering if this is something I can cut out and weld a patch piece in, or if it is too thick for my welder and I need to pay someone to fix it. My welder is good up to 12ga. Does anyone know how thick the frame is? Thoughts?

Ok, that's thicker than my welder can do. Thanks for the info!

I've actually got an appointment today to have someone cut the rusted pieces out and weld new metal in.
