HTM, did your magnet have a bunch of slimy metallic-shaving gook on it? Last summer when I pulled mine it was covered in it, I was suprised the magnet was still attacting anything.
Not that I remember. I drilled the hole with the magnet in there and it picked up the metal shavings from that so I had to really clean it. Not sure if there were some on there or not before that I'm thinking there may have been a few small ones. BTW the fluid only had 2k miles or so on it when I decided to do this. The magnet however did seem to be a little black and dirtier than the fluid which looked perfect. Milky sounds like water. You sure you didn't have water in there?

No, this was definitely a fine metallic grit. At 40K, I had it flushed at a shop, but I'm pretty sure at this point that they didn't pull the pan. The manual drain I did was the first time the pan had ever been off.

I noticed today in the morning that my car is leaking transmission fluid but in the back side of the transmission. Is there any seal or something?
