$2.43 here in north eastern Maryland.

To stay on topic I get 12-14 around town depending on how much I have my foot on it.

Ok guys come on...quit yer whining. Try $3.27 per gallon!!!! That's the converted price here in Canada. $0.939 Cdn/Litre is the going rate for 87 octane.

That's why I use my motorcycle to get around and the 5.9L V8 1500 truck is parked on my driveway just for show!

My lie o meter is saying 15.7 and my math has it a tad higher. My truck was eating fuel when I got it, but I did a tune up with quality parts and fixed the intake plenum. Now I am pretty happy with the mileage. And I have 4:10 gears. These trucks have a bad name for poor fuel economy and I can only assume theyere are alot of them out there that arent running well, Or are jusr worn out. I cant see any other reason for getting 11 MPG around town other than stomping the heck out if it at every take off.
I'd love to see your math for proof of these MPG numbers, but I doubt we'll ever see it.

I found the biggest improvement to my mileage was replacing my manual clutch fan with an electric fan setup. Immediate feel in available HP and increased mpg to boot. I get an average of 11.5-12 mpg and I do not take it easy at all. 85 mph on the highway making the 160 mile trip to the beach every weekend. I'm often curious what sort of mileage I'd get if I drove the speed limit.

I just turned past 200k miles, have the Hughes plate, 2001 QC 2500 4x4 and manual transmission, Superchips reflash (premium all the time), K&N filter, stock tires, Bosch plugs and MSD 8.5mm plug wires. And I even run the ZMax treatments.

I was getting around 12.5 in town but it has fallen off here lately. I'm getting the DTCs on the O2 sensors so I think I need to address that issue. I'm also burning some oil and plan to check my plate but I think the engine has finally just gotten worn out of the rings and stem seals. I'm currently researching my Cummins options to do a complete changeover from the 5.9 gasser.
