1600 lbs is nothing to worry about I do about that in gravel quite often

alright, well thanks yall, and yeah. I meant 1/2 ton, i dont know what had me thinking a 1/4. and out of curiosity, why should i keep it out of OD?

Stops the transmission from constantly down/up shifting, which keeps temps down, which keeps the transmission happy.

i had 3500 on my 1500 but i use timbren springs good shocks and 10 ply rated tire 60 psi , plus dont drive like a manaic , my old 79 w200 had litle over 6000 on it 2 or 3 times , but again springs tires and all need to be tip top shape

I've been over 3000 a few times, hauling gravel, but don't recommend going that heavy.not good on the springs. Definitely keep it out of OD. Last time I did it on the 95 I had, front end and steering very "light", and I was a nervous wreck for the 30 minute ride home. Make sure to keep lots of braking space if you get that heavy.

Just looks like the front wheels are barely on the ground.
